Actions : Leaf – diuretic, liver and digestive tonic. Root – Liver tonic, promotes bile flow, diuretic, mildly laxative, anti-rheumatic

Constituents : Leaf – bitter glycosides, carotenoid, terpenoids, choline, potassium salts, iron and other minerals, vitamins A,B,C,D.   Root – bitter glycosides, tannins, triterpenes, sterols, volatile oil, choline, asparagin, inulin

Indications : Very powerful diuretic, one of the best natural sources of potassium; used safely in water retention due to heart problems; congestive jaundice; add the fresh leaves to salad as a cleanser; juice the leaves as a diuretic; use an infusion as a gentle liver, gall bladder and digestive aid; use tincture for toxic conditions of gout, eczema, acne.
