Actions : Anti-spasmodic, sedative, astringent, muscle relaxant, cardiac tonic, uterine relaxant, anti-inflammatory

Constituents : Bitter called viburnin, valerianic acid, salicosides, resin, tannin, saponins, coumarin

Indications : Known as Guelder Rose or Black Haw; was used in the 14^th century since Chaucer suggested eating the berries; used extensively by Native Americans. Use the tincture as a relaxant for nervous or muscular tension, ovarian and uterine muscle problems such as menses cramps and excessive blood loss, childbirth pain, menopausal symptoms; use the tincture for colicky conditions of the intestines, gallbladder or urinary system; add to digestive remedies for an irritable bowel; mix the tincture with a standard ointment base and use for muscle cramps, shoulder tension; relaxes the cardiovascular system in high blood pressure.
